Chick Pick - M Mimi Pie

I was on one of my favorite Networking Sites, Black Business Women Online and stumbled across this site, My Mimi Pie

I love finding sites that promote us. Take a look at some of her products

How she got started...

MiMi Pie was inspired by baby Emmia…

Erika Barnes got the idea to start her own business when she was looking for African-American Princess Invitations for her daughter's first birthday party. She couldn't find exactly what she wanted – and previously designing and created her own wedding invitations, she decided to do the same for her daughter’s birthday invitations.

Invitations designed by Erika for baby Emmia’s first birthday got rave reviews. The feedback was so overwhelmingly positive, that Erika received a number of requests from people wanting their own custom made invitations for events such as: birthdays, weddings, and baby/wedding showers.

MiMi Pie’s custom creations were so desirable that Erika started to expand her offerings, designing African-American stationary, multi ethnic baby announcements, and ethnic note cards and candy wrappers. Ms. Barnes is passionate about diversifying her product line to include a variety of ethnic backgrounds.

In addition to the African-American Princess line, Erika created a special line of multi cultural products called, “The MiMi Pie Sisterhood,” which represents the pride and beauty of numerous ethnicities - and offers paper creations, apparel and accessories, that celebrate diversity and multi cultural unity.

Erika is building an empire of customized stationary goods, while being a stay-at-home mom. Baby Emmia is the inspiration behind all of Erika’s designs – this is why she named her business, MiMi Pie, after her daughter Emmia.
